Considering this time past year we had Bright to close out 2017's slate of Netflix Originals, this is an undeniable step up.

"My dad died, and then while my dad was failing, we get a call from the nanny ... that our dog Ruby, the two-legger, had a stroke", Bullock opened up to Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show this week.

"My dress sort of kept flying up - I said, 'Whatever you do, just keep my dress down.' The whole stunt he just made sure of my dress", she said. "Because there's so much happening in the world where people don't have anything".

"A week later I'm in the bathtub, crying, and the kids are like, 'Is Mommy okay?'" she said. "She's going to be fine'". She explained that her life has been enriched in ways she could have never imagined since adopting daughter Laila, 6, and son Louis, 8, who she welcomed just months after she split from ex-husband Jesse James. "It's life", she concluded.
