Mourinho created unhealthy atmosphere - Sanchez

Sanchez has scored just five times during his year in Manchester and has struggled for regular playing time under both Mourinho and Solskjaer, who has been in charge since December. But the Norwegian acknowledged that the next few weeks without Lingard and Martial, when United also face Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Southampton in the Premier League and the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie away to PSG, could provide the biggest test yet of his managerial credentials.

Solskjaer, departing from his usual diplomatic demeanour, warned Sanchez after the game that he can not cure his poor form by himself.

"I'm not going to say it's the last chance because we are going to Paris to give it a go, but the chances are slimmer", said Solskjaer.

"There's no time or period to wait, nothing".

"Yes, it worries me because I believe in my abilities as a player". I'm sure we'll see the best of him before the end of the season.

"I believe in what I am".

"Sometimes I didn't play, then I did, then I didn't and as a player you lose confidence".

"He [Solskjaer] hasn't spoken to me a great deal about what I have to do on the pitch, but I think I'm an experienced player and I think I know what I need to do and what I shouldn't do".

"He's a very good player".

And Sanchez admits that he should have done more for the club since his arrival 13 months ago.

"The first thought that used to come to mind when you mentioned Alexis Sanchez was that he worked his socks off, he put a shift in". It's not an excuse because if I go on for 10 or 20 minutes I have to perform as that's why I'm here.

"Sanchez needs game time to find his rhythm but when Rashford and Martial are fit, they play, so it's hard for him".

'He was always interested and focused on what he was doing, and I'm pleased he's showing his quality.

"I don't know how people see me, but football is what I've loved from being a kid and it's my passion", Sanchez added.
