New Microsoft Surface devices leaked

Just a day before Microsoft's hardware event, renders of three Surface products have leaked online.

There're also images of the upcoming Surface Laptop 3, with Microsoft appearing to ditch the fuzzy "Alcantara" fabric for nice, metal, monochromatic look.

Anyway, first up is an iPad Pro-like Surface Pro 7 with a almost borderless display. Although his Twitter account is now private, he provided his existing followers some official-looking images of some Microsoft products we had believed could be unveiled this week during Microsoft's event.

First off, there's a new Surface device, which we presume can be the ARM-based Surface, rumored to be code-named as Excalibur. Sister site Laptop Mag reviewed the Surface Pro 6 and loved its fast performance, excellent battery life, and bright, colorful display.

For the Surface Pro 7, there are new colors but the bigger update is that the device now has USB-C along with a Type-A port. The Surface Laptop 3 looks very similar to the Surface Laptop 2, except much cleaner as the entire device is metal now. The successor of the Surface Pro 6 launched past year seems to see little change in terms of design. The only difference would be the ports on the device itself.

This version could well be ARM-powered, the report says, and drops USB-A and MiniDisplayPorts in favour of USB-C. Previous leaks suggest that the laptops will offer a 3:2aspect ratio, and the larger 15-inch model will likely support the Surface Pen as well. No images of the right side were provided by Even Blass. In Laptop Mag's battery test, the Surface Pro went the distance at 9 hours and 20 minutes. The detachable keyboard is also making a comeback, and while the design seems to have been retained, the internals should have been upgraded.
