First look at Christian Serratos as Selena Quintanilla in new Netflix series

Netflix has officially given us our first look at its upcoming production, Selena: The Series, starring Christian Serratos! On top of that, the official cast was also disclosed. The Mexican-American actress leads a cast that includes Honduran-American actor Gabriel Chavarria as Selena's brother A.B., Mexican American Ricardo Chavira as her protective father Abraham and Noemi Gonzalez as Selena's sister and drummer Suzette.

The one-minute trailer features cuts of Serratos fully in character while reading script pages, practicing her dance moves in that unforgettable purple jumpsuit, and touching up her signature red lipstick before eventually making her way over to the stage. Madison Taylor Baez will play a young version of the Tejano starlet, too.

The story is being split into two parts, with the first consisting of six hour-long episodes that is set to debut in 2020.

Mainstream audiences might recognize Selena's songs "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom", "Como La Flor", and "Dreaming of You". The latter was part of an album of the same title.

If you've already watched Selena's last concert on Amazon Prime and you've purchased your HBO Max account to stream Jennifer Lopez's should-have-been Oscar-nominated turn as the Tejano singer, just wait because there's more coming your way.

"Selena is an inspirational figure who's transcended generations", Jaime Davila, president of Campanario Entertainment, said according to TV Line.

The late singer Selena is the subject of a forthcoming Netflix series.

Yolanda Saldívar, the head of her fan club in the '90s, murdered Selena on March 31, 1995, and her fans haven't let her memory go ever since.
