Reid backs 'elite' Colin Kaepernick despite Jay-Z's reported concern

Over the weekend, through last-minute scheduling and moving of his National Football League workout, Colin Kaepernick worked out for National Football League teams.

Smith's comments referenced Kaepernick's decision to relocate his workout from the Atlanta Falcons training facility to a high school approximately 51 miles away only 30 min prior to the start of the invitation only event. The blackballed quarterback agreed to attend, as did 25 of the league's 32 franchises, but the workout fell through after the league attempted to force Kaepernick to sign a waiver to protect itself from future employment lawsuits.

Eric Reid continued his support of former teammate Colin Kaepernick following the quarterback's workout Saturday.

"I went there on my free time and I came back in time for our meetings last night", Reid said.

Following Kaepernick's relocated workout and Smith's comments, a number of people have come out to express their views on both sides of the situation.

But if a team hasn't shown any interest in three years, what makes anyone think this time will be different? We are ready to play.

With barely more than an hour to spare, the media that had been herded into a gated-off area in the parking lot and told that was as close as they would get to Kaepernick's workout hustled to their vehicles to set off for a high school most had never heard of. "I want him in the league". The Carolina Panthers safety commended the quarterback's courage to continue his comeback attempt. To the individuals that are not here, I'm imagining of you, I recognize you supporting from exactly where you are.

Reid says he understands why Kaepernick moved the workout and took more control of the proceedings.

Seattle again sought out Kaepernick in 2018 after having to release Boykin after he fell into more legal issues, talking to Kaepernick about coming in for another workout. And what does Colin Kaepernick do.

The Seahawks so far are the only team to have brought in Kaepernick for a workout since the end of his 49ers days, doing so in the spring of 2017.

Uncomfortable with this take-it-or-leave-it type of deal, the 32-year-old quarterback made a decision to change the rules and control the narrative, organizing his own workout. We'll permit you know if we listen to from them.

Kaepernick, who remains a free agent, has been out of the NFL for nearly three full seasons, due to controversy surrounding his silent protest during the national anthem during the 2016-2017 season. "I think we could use Colin's help".

For the league, the original, hastily organized, workout seemed to be about protecting itself from a potential second collusion lawsuit than giving Kaepernick another chance to play in the NFL.
