Man United move a dream come true, says Ighalo

Manchester United has confirmed the deal.

Duncan Castles reported in the Sunday Times in January 2016 that former Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal wanted to pay £35 million for Ighalo after being impressed with his hot form at Watford. United had been trying to sign Josh King from Bournemouth but a deal couldn't be struck.

Before quiting the national team, the form of Ighalo had been eye-catching, finishing as top scorer at the 2019 African Cup of Nations and qualifying with seven goals, before scoring five at the tournament during the summer.

Spector said more transfers of that nature would be necessary if Solskjaer and his men are to challenge for titles in the future, in addition to the current policy of promoting young players.

"A great lad and very professional, he will make the most of his time here". A starting date for the new season has not yet been announced.

Given Ighalo is a penalty-box forward, his arrival is likely to result in a tactical reshuffle which could see Anthony Martial redeployed on the left-wing and fellow new recruit Bruno Fernandes pushed into a No.10 role to fashion chances.

Rather than convincing him though, it seems this last-minute, scattergun approach ultimately worked against them. "More and more mature, more and more assured performances".

Either way, hopefully the United players recover physically and build up a winning run as it's needed if they hope to secure Champions League football for next season. They were my team growing up.

#MUFC can confirm that Odion Ighalo will join us on loan from Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season.

Odion Ighalo starred for Watford during his previous stint in the English premier league.

Center back Ryan Bennett joined third-place Leicester from Wolverhampton on loan until the end of the season, subject to Premier League approval.

But United did not move for the 29-year-old, with his importance to the Canaries likely to have massively inflated his price tag.
