The Brazilian football great and his brother, Roberto Assis, have been held at a prison in Asuncion since March 6 for using fake passports.

The Brazil legend, 40, was thrown behind bars for allegedly trying to enter the South American nation with forged documentation.

In 2015, he and his brother were convicted of illegally building a fishing trap at Lake Guaiba without proper licensing in a permanent preservation area.

Ronaldinho and his brother are expected to remain under the house arrest while an investigation into their alleged crimes carries on. And financial worries came to light after he was stopped from selling 57 of his properties due to the outstanding debts.

He was a part of the Brazil team that won the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea and was twice voted the Federation Internationale de Football Association world player of the year.
