He was 59 years old. It all started with a simple cough and then it got worse. I waited another day and the cough still didn't go away.

"My girlfriend, she told me when I was asleep, my cough, didn't sound normal". Miller suffers from asthma and initially dismissed the symptom, trying to alleviate the issue with a nebulizer. That, though, didn't make much of a difference.

"It's true", Miller told 9NEWS' Mike Klis. More than 8,200 have tested positive in Colorado, where Miller has stayed since leaving his San Francisco training facility to abide by stay-at-home orders; 355 in Colorado have died from complications. New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton previously tested positive in March and has since been cleared.

Miller is the second National Football League player in as many days to be reported as having tested positive. The Chargers and Rams' new stadium had at least two workers test positive as well.

Von Miller said he's been taking COVID-19 seriously "since Day 1".

Miller, who is considered one of the best defenders in the NFL, was drafted by the Broncos with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

The Super Bowl 50 MVP is now resting at home and plans to speak publicly Friday, according to Rapoport.

"It's insane", Miller said, via 9News. Within that four weeks, I probably left the house four times. There's not really any medicine or anything like that. My assistant said why don't you just go tested.

"I'm not feeling sick or hurting or anything like that", he added.

"I'm going to do whatever I have to do to get thru this!" he wrote on an Instagram story. "With all of those four times, I never got out of the auto - just drive to pick up food and come back home".
