MDH Reports 498 New Cases of COVID-19, 24 More Deaths

According to the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department, the newest cases include a 14-year-old boy who was recorded as the 14th case after being in contact with another COVID-19 patient.

There were 432 tests conducted in the past 24 hours.

A total of 105,648 people in Virginia have now been tested. Of the confirmed cases, 54 percent have been men, and 46 percent were women.

The department says 317 of those deaths have been residents of assisted living or long-term care facilities. As a result, the quantity of negative test results will decrease substantially.

Locally, Stearns County saw another 96 cases overnight.

The race reporting the largest percentage of cases in the county - about 39% - is Caucasian, according to the Thursday data.

The community's total number of cases is now 809 since the beginning of the pandemic. The county has also recorded one death.

Lincoln County has confirmed finding its first positive case of COVID-19. There have been 61 total hospitalizations, five of which are active.
