"Snowpiercer takes place seven years after the collapse of society due to a global climate catastrophe". This has rendered the Earth inhabitable and the only hope for humanity is the Snowpiercer.

The Earth's remaining inhabitants are confined to a single train circling the globe as revolution brews among the class-divided cars.

Snowpiercer series is coming to Netflix on 25 May, announced the streaming giant.

It tells the story of what happens in the face of extreme inequality - when those who have been oppressed their entire lives finally decide to take their destiny into their own hands. The series is airing in the United States on TNT, a WarnerMedia-owned channel, on May 17 and May 24. TNT executives and the Snowpiercer group, which initially consisted of showrunner Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and director Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange), clashed on inventive variations. However, in spite of all the problems, the show was renewed for a second season.

The series, which is set to air in May 2020, is based primarily on Bong's adaptation of the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette.

Alongside Connelly, Snowpiercer also stars Alison Wright (The Americans), Mickey Sumner (Frances Ha, Battle of the Sexes), Susan Park (Ghostbusters), Iddo Goldberg (Peaky Blinders, The Zookeeper's Wife), Katie McGuinness (Dirty Filthy Love), Tony Award® victor and Grammy® nominee Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), AnnaliseBasso(Bedtime Stories), Sam Otto (Jellyfish), Roberto Urbina (Narcos), Sheila Vand (Argo) and Jaylin Fletcher (Saturday Church).

Bong Joon-Ho's Snowpiercer came out back in 2013, and though the movie was pretty solid in itself, TNT had decided to make a series out of the film.
