Doug Liman to Direct Tom Cruise in Space-set Film

He's previously worked with Tom on both Edge of Tomorrow and American Made. It appears to be like as if tom cruise is continually searching for to one-up himself in each film, so him leaping on the chance to movie within the space should not surprise one and all.

As per reports in The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Cruise will foray into outer space, literally for an action-adventure film directed by Doug Liman. Plot details about the project are being kept under wraps (probably somewhere out in space). The project does not now have a studio or a financier.

This time, the actor will be teaming up with the actual space officials from the country's space agency NASA and Elon Musk-owned SpaceX.

Cruise and technocrat Elon Musk's aviation company Space X are collaborating with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for filming the ambitious narrative movie aboard a real SpaceX vessel.

There are a few things for Cruise and Liman to take care of before they shoot off. Cruise is still in the middle of Mission: Impossible 7, now in a holding pattern after filming in Europe was halted due to the pandemic.

According to Deadline, Cruise and Liman have been writing a screenplay about the sci-fi film, and the two asked the space firms to allow them to shoot in the actual spacecraft.

Director, Doug Liman is also known for directing films like "Mr and Mrs Smith and the action film "Bourne Identity".

Doug Liman is the director of YouTube Premium's "Impulse". The film shooting had to be put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. While Cruise had postponed the showing of Top Gun: Maverick to December 23, instead of summer 2020.

What the film will actually be about remains to be seen, but we now know who's involved with the movie alongside Cruise.
