Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales Is A Spin-Off? Or A Complete Game?

As revealed by SIE's EVP head of European Business Simon Rutter, Spider-Man Miles Morales is a remaster of 2018's Spider-Man.

Spider-Man Miles Morales is not a brand new game nor a sequel, Sony has confirmed.

It sounds like Lord wasn't alone when he saw the game, so we'd hazard a guess that he saw it with some of his fellow Spider-Verse filmmakers, including his longtime collaborator Chris Miller. Featuring New York's newest web-slinger as he takes to the streets and skyscrapers, the idea of Miles Morales continuing to shine as the Spider-Man for a new generation hit a homerun straight out of Yankee Stadium. As you can imagine, many were extremely excited about this game and how it displays the raw power of the PS5.

Update: PlayStation has revealed that the next-gen PS5 exclusive Spider-Man Miles Morales is a remastered expansion of the original Spider-Man PS4. They aren't quite convinced it's a full-fledged sequel though we certainly hope that's the case. Uncharted Lost Legacy sold for $40 rather than the standard $60, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales is expected to follow a similar path. Highly-detailed character models and enhanced visuals across the game intensify the story of Miles Morales as he faces great, new challenges while learning to be his own Spider-Man. It will also make use of the DualSense controller's haptic feedback.

This is the core reason why the game is set to release so early in holiday 2020, only two years after the release of the original Marvel's Spider-Man.

The reason that this entire saga has been so hysterical is that Sony could have put it to rest at any point and chose not to. So this will be something akin to an expansion pack with a version of the game that probably looks better in the graphics department thanks to the hardware within the PlayStation 5. He now resides in NY writing for BGR.
