Over 11000 New COVID-19 Cases

With a total of 1,01,141 cases and 3,717 deaths, this state contributes to one-third of the total virus load in India.

Delhi recorded 2,137 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, the highest single-day spike.

Until now, India had continued to witness close to 10,000 cases every day.

Jammu and Kashmir has reported 55 fatalities due to the coronavirus disease, while 39 deaths have been reported from Bihar, 23 from Uttarakhand, 20 from Kerala, 10 from Odisha and eight from Jharkhand. The state saw 3,254 new cases on June 10.

The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Out of the total number of cases, 1,49,348 are active and 1,62,379 have been cured/discharged/migrated. As many as 3,427 new COVID-19 cases were reported from the state in the past 24 hours.

However, India has also entered the top-ten in terms of the number of deaths.

The new COVID-19 positive patients are local men, aged 22 and 29, who arrived here from Indonesia via a direct flight on Friday, the statement said, adding that the patients are undergoing treatment at isolation wards in the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital.

Over 70 per cent of the total infections were reported from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. The state government data, till June 11, showed most of the virus-afflicted patients were in the age group of 31-40 years. In India, now there are more cured/discharged patients than the active cases.

"For the second time this week, there are fewer than 200 new cases of #COVID19 in Ontario", Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott tweeted on Sunday morning.

In the month of June, the spread of infection has been extremely rapid.

Sikkim has reported 63 cases, while Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu together have reported 35 infections. Also, the doubling time of Coronavirus cases in India has improved to 17.4 days now from 15.4 days a couple of weeks ago, the Union health ministry said on Friday.

120 more fatalities on Sunday took the state's death toll to 3,950.
