As the game continues to operate in real-time, the island's wildlife changes each month to sync with the seasons. Here you'll discover when the summer update is coming out and everything it includes from swimming to sea creatures. There are whale sharks all the way to great white beasties from Jaws, but remember that they'll be a few fish leaving at the end of June to be replaced.

From July 3, you'll be able to swim in the ocean, dive down for new sea creatures and donate them to a new wing of the museum.

As ever, Nintendo may choose to do things a little differently with its next update, so Animal Crossing fans should keep an eye on the game's official social media feeds for the latest.

The first Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update is on the way. Another summer update is planned to be released in early August, so stay tuned for further details to come.

We don't know what Nintendo's second batch of new content will provide, but if it's anything like the first then we'll be more than happy. Anyone who's played past Animal Crossing titles will recognize Pascal as a chill guy who doles out equally chill pearls of wisdom while casually treading water. You'll be able to trade any scallops you find while swimming to him in exchange for new DIY recipes to build some really kitschy mermaid stuff. In previous Animal Crossing games, Gulliver has dressed up as an astronaut or an alien.

And with this new area comes a new visitor by the name of Pascal. If you thought your museum was nearly complete, think again.
