Actress Heard says ex-husband Depp threatened to kill her

Kendall, who appeared by videolink from Los Angeles, was not questioned about her statement.

"I booked a room and met him there".

Depp says the accusations are a hoax, with some allegations collated for years as part of an insurance policy by Heard.

Ms Heard, 34, said Mr Depp had pursued her romantically when they were filming The Rum Diary in 2009, but nothing happened because she was in a relationship at the time with Tasya van Ree.

Actress and #MeToo campaigner Katherine Kendall said on Friday she was deliberately "misquoted and misused" by Britain's The Sun newspaper in an article which labelled Hollywood star Johnny Depp a "wife-beater".

"At the time, I thought it was kind of romantic", she said.

Jenkins also told the court that he was hired to drive Heard and her entourage to California's Coachella event the following day, and she made no mention of the alleged violence she had suffered during the vehicle ride.

He has denied 14 claims of violence that NGN said proves the claim, portraying Heard as a calculating, dishonest, sociopathic fantasist intent on destroying his life.

Mr Depp's lawyer, Eleanor Laws QC, asked her about her allegations of an argument in January 2015, and suggested it was over discussions with lawyers about a pre-nuptial agreement between herself and Mr Depp.

In her statement, Heard claimed that Depp would attribute his behavior to a split personality.

"He would taunt me about it - especially when he was drunk or high - and had derogatory nicknames for every one of my male co-stars he considered a sexual threat", she said in the statement.

"I did have to make contact with Johnny's limbs and arms as I was trying to get through the door he was trying to close", she said.

"There was an argument in a hotel room in Tokyo that resulted in Johnny kneeling on my back and hitting me on the back of the head", Ms Heard told the court.

"He would blame all his actions on a self-created third party instead of himself, which he often called 'the monster.' He would speak about it as if it was another person or personality and not him doing all these things."

It's worth pointing out here that Johnny Depp did not physically take Amber Heard hostage, but she refers to what happened as being "the worst thing I have ever been through" (via Deadline), also noting she was stuck in a remote location away from civilization for that three-day period.

Johnny Depp greets fans as he arrives for day eight of the libel case.

"It was really messed up", she said.

Heard's evidence is due to last three days and the trial is set to conclude next week, although no ruling is expected immediately.

"He said it was Christi, that he didn't want that [the pre-nuptial agreement], that he trusted me and, as he said to me time and time again, the only way out of this was death".

He also accuses her of having affairs with co-stars and with Tesla chief Elon Musk. Depp has always denied he committed he was guilty of domestic violence and is suing the paper's owners in London.

The 57-year-old actor, a household name after his roles as Edward Scissorhands and as Jack Sparrow in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean series, had been served a restraining order in Los Angeles in 2016, shortly after their divorce, but he has now made headlines with allegations that it was Heard, not he, with the serious violence and alcohol problem.
