Beyoncé releases visual album Black Is King on Disney Plus

Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy Carter all made appearances on the set.

It may have been almost impossible to top the cinematography of "Lemonade" (2016) and "Homecoming" (2018), but the singer has matched - if not surpassed - them with "Black Is King".

Beyonce has quite the celebrity lineup in her latest movie.

Black Is King is based on the music from Bey's 2019 soundtrack for the animated film, The Lion King: The Gift.

For the last several months, the singer had been teasing the release of her new film, which is exclusive to Disney+. According to the Disney+ website, "The film was in production for one year with a cast and crew that represent diversity and connectivity".

The 38-year-old singer executive produced, wrote and directed the release which puts "the voyages of Black families, throughout time" in the spotlight and follows "a young king's transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity". He ends up using the guidance of his ancestors and his childhood love to make it back to his family. "These timeless lessons are revealed and reflected through Black voices of today, now sitting in their own power".

Because we are beauty obsessed over here and Beyoncé continually gives us truly iconic looks, we're rounding up some of the most eye-catching from Black Is King.
